Shelter

Come to me, one and all;
All souls, lost and broken.
No tales need be spoken.
Gather 'round my loving call.

There's free entry to my heart.
Leave all your baggage behind,
And Peace, we'll try to find,
For I can offer, a new start.

Fractured, beaten, and abused,
I cannot wipe clean your slate.
Yet for a good life, it's never too late,
Stay here, where only toys are used.

Release your sorrows in the wind,
Day by day, learn to live.
Kindness, is all I have to give,
For too many against you, have sinned.

Come to me, one and all;
Take comfort in my arms,
With me, nothing harms,
So gather 'round my loving call.

[This poem is dedicated to my Mother's unwavering love and devotion to mistreated animals]
